Become A Friend Of The Wrekin Museum

If you would like to support the idea of the Wrekin Museum you can join our 'Friends' group.

We ask that you make a small annual donation of £5, in return we will keep you up to date on what is happening via an email newsletter. We will be organising 'Friends' events and may be on the look out for volunteers to help with all aspects of creating a museum. But its up to you how much or how little you want to be involved.

Who The Wrekin Museum Partnership is dedicated to establishing a Museum of The Wrekin Area in Wellington.

What The Museum will tell the fascinating history of the local area from the creation of the hill 600 million years ago to the prehistoric peoples living in the area, development of a market town and impact of the new town on the community. We want to highlight the geology, ecology and history of the area but also look to the future, at new developments in science technology and the arts. We want to develop a real community space which tells the story of the landscape, the people who live here, folk law surrounding us and provide space for the local people to share their interests through gallery or exhibition space. Somewhere we can be proud of. The museum will provide a focus for visitors to the town with an information point, café & retail area and attract people into the town which will hopefully be good for local businesses.

Where We don't have a home at the moment, but we are looking.

When Its ambitious, but we want to open the doors of a museum within 3 years.

How With a little help from our friends. With your small annual donation of £5 we can start to put money into the bank. This is just one way we will be raising money, we will also be fundraising through events and by applying for grants and donations.

Return For your money, we will keep you informed of progress through a quarterly email newsletter. If you don't have email this will be published in the Wellington News. Sorry we can't post out newsletters, we need to save every penny.
